Each piece is carefully handcrafted from natural white clay and undergoes two or three firings in a ceramic kiln, with temperatures ranging from 900 to 1100 degrees Celsius. During the first firing (bisque), the ceramic pigments are set, and in the second firing, a layer of transparent glaze is applied to achieve a glossy, waterproof finish.
The designs are first sketched on the dry clay using a regular pencil or a stencil, then hand-painted with brushes using various pigments or oxides (like cobalt oxide for blue). If a piece features gold accents, it is decorated with ceramic luster made from real gold particles, which is applied in a third firing at 750 degrees Celsius.
